Review of Seven Wonders Dream Park 3 stars
Reviewed on March 21, 2018
One overcast evening, my husband and I visited the Seven Wonders park at Sahakarnagar, Pune. It has fibreglass replicas of the Taj Mahal of India, the Colosseum of Rome, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, the Stone Henge, the Pyramids of Egypt, the Eiffel Tower of Paris and the Statue of Liberty of USA.
The Taj Mahal, Agra, India |
The Statue of Liberty - New York, U.S.A | |
The Eiffel Tower - France |
The Stonehenge - England, U.K |
The Colosseum - Rome |
The Pyramids - Egypt |
All the replicas are detailed, scaled-down versions of the originals; and are
quaint yet breathtaking. Several volunteers have been deputed to prevent the
over-enthusiastic tourists, especially the tiny tots, from touching or climbing
over the exhibits.
The greenery in the park is refreshing as is the stroll through the neat
pathways through the park leading towards the exhibits.
The other attractions are Mowgli in a jungle, as a mural; a statue where one
could peep through the face and get oneself photographed and a 4D show.
The 4D show isn't very appealing, as the visuals are blurred, the acoustics are
jarring and the tremors of the seating platform are more uncomfortable than
enjoyable.
Our main grouse was about the stinking, unmaintained toilets. There was no running
water, no proper latch or light. Only one each, is available for ladies and
gents.
It was as if we roamed a pristine, wondrous world and came back to Earth with a
bang!
A canteen with fresh snacks and ice-cream would be most welcome here.
A tourist can hail a cab or auto from Pune station or anywhere in Pune, to this
park. Just ask the driver to take you to Sahakarnagar near Swargate. The park
is straight down Panchami restaurant's lane; opposite Rajiv Gandhi E-learning
School.
