                                                            An Excerpt

Her eyes filled up with warm tears, as if on cue. She glanced downwards to rub the tears out from the corners of her eyes, inwardly wondering whether her tears would do the trick! Melt the stone!

Sharmaji was solemnly contemplating how he could leave that place as quickly as possible. Tears always made him uncomfortable. Weak. These ladies and their crocodile tears! He grimaced inwardly. He looked at her bent head, her neat chignon, slender nape of her neck, fine pearls encircling it, smooth skin…. Oh no!

He looked away exasperatedly. He had just had the irresistible urge to touch her shoulder, draw her into his warm embrace and comfort her.

Reining in his impulses, he jumped up and started walking without a backward glance. Years of rigorous self-discipline had not gone waste! He felt elated.
