Of course, we are Indians!

Of course, we are Indians
How dare you think otherwise?
Though we reject everything Indian
Your ignorance we despise!
We are proud of our culture
          But are partial to pub-culture.
          We prefer noodles and pizzas
          To dosas and samosas!
We gift only Dutch roses on Valentine’s
And wear only Versace’s and Gucci’s designs.
We seldom spend vacations in our land
How else can we party in Disneyland?
Over rock and jazz, we may fawn,
But classical music brings on a yawn!
We aim for a foreign degree,
           It’s the ultimate you see!
Never mind foreign ‘Indian freaks’
Who wish to become Sanskrit geeks!
Our lingo is smattered with the Queen’s language
And all goods imported, are a rage!
Aerobics gets the upper hand over yoga
No spirit is better than Vodka.
We pride our selves on being Indians
Though our ultimate dream is of becoming NRIs
           NON - RESIDENT INDIANS!

My Future

My future holds a promise of better things to come
I’ll dare, no matter whatever the outcome
Surely, I’ll silence all my skeptics
By going back to the basics.
I’ll put my best foot forward
And never once, look backward
I can see the rainbows on the horizon
'Cause I’ve just widened my vision!

My beloved mother's First Death Anniversary

Dear Amma,
It has been a year since you decided to become a star in Heaven and shower your blessings on us from above! We always find you around us, in the fragrance of incense, flowers and your thoughts. May you always live in eternal peace in your newly-found home!
It is only your strength that keeps us going day after day, secure in the knowledge that you have now become our Guardian Angel.
                                                                                 Yours lovingly,
                                                                                 Anna and your three gems.

Happy Children's Day! Do come along!

Dear kids,
I invite you to follow me to a new land of peace and prosperity, friendship and harmony, love and justice, a world free from hatred and strife; where you all will blossom fully.
This journey will of course, be in your minds and souls and you’ll strive to achieve it, I’m sure. For, you’re our future, our best hope, our best bet for a better, beautiful world!
                So do come along!
Wish you all a Very Happy Children's Day!
                                                                Your friend
                                                                 Priya

My Past

My past always catches up with me
No matter what I do, it’s always with me!
It overshadows my present, threatens my future
It clings to me like ivy, and that is for sure!
How can I get rid of it and start life all anew?
All day long and all night long, my thoughts are askew!
I’ll welcome my past, not shy away from it
I’ll learn from it, improve my present
And look forward to a great future- THAT’S IT!

Tangled web

I was caught in your web
And pulled apart strand by strand
You mesmerized me and captivated me.
I wanted to attract you,
But you were one up on me!
Though what remains is only my mortal remains,
My love for you will always remain!

Plan your family

Plan your family at every step
Of your married life
If you want to be in step with the times
At no step, should you ignore your wife
Plan a sweet and small family
If not at one, definitely think after two
You surely have better things to do
Than just increasing your family!
