Yes, you can also become a professional writer. Priya's Vision conducts classes-cum-workshops for those who are interested in content-writing. 

All help and information will be provided regarding publications/websites and their contact details.
 

The contents of the creative-writing workshops will be aspects and techniques of writing original and flawless content for articles, blogs, press releases, websites, stories, travelogues, ads, debates, etc. The classes/workshops will be fun-filled, interactive sessions packed with information. Dear mystery aficionados! You are in for a treat! Author Priya Ramesh Swaminathan has concocted a tale of an anthropologist researcher and his two dedicated assistants. The other characters in the plot add to the suspense and strange things happening at the site. The author has played with words and adds her inimitable style to the setting of the story. Excerpt:

        The shrill ringing of his phone jolted him from his reverie.  Cheerfully, he said “Hello!”  His wife Meena’s voice flowed down through the line, loud and clear.  “Please send the driver here, along with the car.  We’ve been waiting since an hour for him!”  

        He was surprised.   Why hadn’t Hariprasad gone to pick his family?  He had told Dwarka Charan that he had an urgent errand to do, what was it…..?  Yes, pick up his daughter from her nursery school, return back to the complex, take the vehicle and ferry his family to the office for the function.

        

        Dwarka was also concerned, as the priest, being a busy man; was a stickler to punctuality and hated things disturbing his busy schedule.  He’d be hopping mad.  He was supposed to come along with the family too.  Hariprasad was going to bring all of them in 2 rounds.  And here, he hadn’t even started as yet!

        

        Over the intercom, he contacted the receptionist.  “Kindly ask the security whether they’ve seen my driver.  If you spot him, kindly ask him to contact me immediately.”

        

        The receptionist wondered why he couldn’t call his driver on his mobile immediately.  Then she got the answer.  “You see, I’ve forgotten my mobile at home.  My wife will definitely bring it,” he fibbed.  He was saving on his out-going calls.  He didn’t know how to send an SMS and was too embarrassed to ask anyone for the ‘know-how’!

        

        After 5 minutes, the receptionist promptly reported to him that no one, including herself had seen him.

        

        “Please ask the security guards to go and check in the basement!” he requested.

        

        “Very well, Sir.”  

        Accordingly both the security guards went to the basement to check it out.  They didn’t return, even after 15 minutes. Then the receptionist Sunita went to see what the matter was.  She was scared when she saw the rows of neatly parked four-wheelers and 2- wheelers in the deserted, huge and eerie basement.  She didn’t venture far.  She just glanced right and left from the bottom of the stairs leading to the basement and immediately turned back and fled.  There was no one there.  Not a soul!

Intrigued? Immediately purchase the book and read on to unravel the mystery!

Shree Swaminarayan Temple, Kalupur – Splendid Temple Complex!

This marvelous piece of architecture, the first Shree Swaminarayan Temple in the world, was situated just a ten-minute walk away from our guest-house. The road leading to the temple complex has shops selling the famous namkeen (salted, deep-fried snacks) of Ahmedabad and vegetable vendors occupying both sides. 

The yummy snacks must be displayed in air-tight containers.

At the entrance, huge, ornate wooden doors greet us, flanked by lamp-posts, to which two lions’ statues cling playfully! The marble temple stands majestically in the center of the huge courtyard with ground plus three storied buildings (Havelis) with brilliantly carved wooden ornamentation; on 3 sides. 

The carvings on the walls and pillars of the temple are also colorful and minutely etched. Carvings of elephants, cows, celestial beings, deities, etc. are a glorious sight to behold!

The main deity's shrine of Nar Narayan Dev is flanked by shrines of other deities. At the entrance to this main temple, are two shrines dedicated to Lord Ganesh and Lord Hanuman. All the idols were made of marble.

We paid obeisance to all the deities, meditated awhile and stepped out to click snaps. Scores of pigeons were feeding on grain scattered all around, in the courtyard. 

The mellow morning sunlight lent a yellow tinge to the entire complex and we felt very peaceful and calm.

Tourist vehicles, mainly cabs, were speedily entering the complex, non-stop.

The complex is very well-maintained but a shoe-stand must be installed there.

Some distance must be maintained between the majestic heritage site and the vendors. 

We saw scooters parked right in front of the beautiful lamp-posts; and other paraphernalia obstructing the full view of the elegant facade of the temple complex.

This temple complex is surely worth a visit.
