The blurb of my book itself says,
as in the foreword, “This story is about a fastidious
guy who goes to extreme lengths to find his ideal life-partner.”
The whole story/script/execution and
actual narration of the original story of a tech-savvy and fastidious person, who
is a computer engineer, too hard to please; going to a showroom in America and
falling in love with a humanoid robot who is smart, witty and beautiful,
capable of doing everything in a jiffy, has an excellent memory, who doesn’t
get tired at all, does all the housework, speaks all languages and is polite
and courteous with the hero’s family and enamors everyone, who comes to India
to meet his family and friends, who uses the hero’s credit card for financial
transactions/shopping, is molested, has emotions….. and has to be upgraded;
everything including the situations/scenes as explained above,
have been blatantly and willfully plagiarized by the Writers-Directors from my
copyrighted book. They have also made a hash of my lovely, unique, original and
poignant story.
The writers and directors have
deliberately kept the second half of my story aside, undoubtedly, for the
sequel that they further intend to make. So we must restrain them now itself.
As I don’t have their addresses or
contact details I’m sending this letter to Jio Studios which can kindly forward
it to them and also ask them for an explanation regarding this blatant
plagiarism and willful copyright infringement done by them. Since the Producers/Production
Houses now own the rights to the story, they will also be named as Defendants
in my case. I’m sending this notice/letter to you all, as advised by my Advocate, Mr. Prafulla Ramchandra
Akkadkar, Pune.
I request Jio Studios to provide me
with the addresses, telephone numbers and email ids of Mr. Amit Joshi and Ms.
Aradhana Sah so that I may contact them too and send the same notice/letter to
them for their replies and necessary ‘cease and desist’ action.
You are kindly requested to immediately stop screening of the
said movie and its trailers on all platforms, whether in theatres in India or
abroad; and on digital platforms including YouTube, Amazon Prime, JioTV,
JioCinema, Netflix, etc. and cease all copyright infringing activity with
respect to my book, with immediate effect.
Kindly peruse this ‘Cease
and Desist notice/letter’ and give me its acknowledgement with your reply regarding
explanation for your “Willful Copyright Infringement” and compliance as
above-mentioned at the earliest, up to 7th February, 2025. Thereafter,
in case of non-compliance, I will be considering filing of a case for “Willful
Copyright Infringement” against all of you, to plead for an injunction order
from the Hon’ble Court; and to claim credit, compensation, litigation costs and
damages.
Thanking you,
Yours sincerely,
Mrs. Priya
