May Day

                                    Bonded by bonds of love

                                    Laboring for a better tomorrow

Working at heights, frequented by the dove

We’ve no time for happiness or sorrow!

In others’ fields we’re the oxen

                                    Ploughing, tilling, sowing, harvesting

In factories we inhale fumes toxins

We waste no time in pondering!

We are the laborers, carpenters, masons

                                    farmers, cobblers, tailors, workers

Because of whom our economy runs.

Small or big, our might matters!

We vow to wipe out all disparity

On such lofty aims, we set our sights!

On this day, we pledge our solidarity

to the cause of our (workers’) rights.
